On the other side of the dissociation spectrum, the lyrics ‘choose any man or woman and we been there loved that’ encourages us to feel it all, even in the ways we are unfamiliar with, or have no recollection of. Standing on the border of faith and delusion, dancey dance is designed with the intention of bringing ourselves back to center, when external sources inevitably knock us off kilter. ”

“megaslow asks us to revisit the language we fall on when coming up against vulnerable moments of friction between ourselves and our loved ones. We can take each other for granted, as in ‘for certain’, springing from a place of trust. Alternatively, we can approach someone’s love from a place of entitlement or extraction. An intimate prayer over the connection for the former, this song is an introduction to what our duo values and the projections we choose to make.”

“Starting with evocative vocals and a skeletal instrumental, we could have easily made a song we made before. But at the same time, we were going through so many transitions- new relationships, new careers, new ways of understanding ourselves and the world around us- it just didn’t make sense to go back to old ways. We knew that at our core, we had a new standard for ourselves. By letting go of old, formulaic ways of creating, thinking, and even loving, we are able to share a piece of art that is representative of the growth we have made as creators and as people.”

A project by 100Fold

100Fold is an collective, label, and mantra for this group of musicians, producers, and recording artists. Originating as a mindset of investing in each other and multiplying growth, 100Fold evolved during the pandemic as a group of artists met online for weekly beat battles and breakdowns. The culture of sharing knowledge and encouraging development eventually led to "GERM!", a collection of songs that introduces the world to the unique chemistry that the group possesses. Filled with distinctive flows, personable sound selection, and ambitious song structures, "GERM!" is a prelude for the germinating collective.
